This Privacy Policy explains how ReSell collects, uses, discloses, stores, and protects information when you use the ReSell Marketplace mobile application, website, public listing, profile, and event pages, application programming interfaces, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

ReSell is a user-generated local marketplace for adults. Depending on the version and features available to you, the Service may allow users to create public profiles and listings, upload photos and stories, create or view events, search for listings or people, favorite listings, message other users, review marketplace participants, use seller analytics, purchase sponsored-listing campaigns, subscribe to ReSell Pro or a separate profile badge, and use reporting, blocking, and account-deletion controls.

We do not sell personal information. ReSell’s own sponsored-listing system promotes listings inside ReSell; it is not a third-party behavioral advertising network and does not use an advertising identifier to track you across unrelated companies’ apps or websites.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Account and authentication information

We may collect:

  • Email address
  • Sign-in method, such as email and password, Apple, or Google
  • Provider-specific account identifier needed to securely recognize an Apple or Google account
  • Password hash; we do not store plaintext passwords
  • Email-verification and password-reset records
  • Username, first and last name, country, biography, and profile photo
  • Internal account ID and public ReSell User ID
  • Account creation, update, login, policy-acceptance, and deletion timestamps
  • Account role, subscription or badge status, moderation status, and disabled/deleted status
  • Authentication, refresh-token, session, and device-registration records

1.2 Public profiles and marketplace content

We may collect and display information that you choose to make available through the Service, including:

  • Username, display name, profile photo, biography, country, public User ID, and public profile link
  • Listing title, description, price, photos, location label, condition or category information, and listing status
  • Active, hidden, sold, removed, and deleted listing records
  • Public reviews, ratings, review comments, and rating summaries
  • Public event titles, descriptions, dates, times, locations, images, hosts, and event links
  • Stories, story images or video, captions, view state, and expiration or deletion information where stories are available

Content you post publicly may be viewed, copied, or shared by other users. Avoid posting sensitive personal information.

1.3 Photos, camera, and uploaded files

When you choose to use an image feature, ReSell may request access to your camera or selected photos for purposes such as:

  • Listing photos
  • Profile photos
  • Story media
  • Event media
  • Optional report evidence

ReSell does not need unrestricted background access to your entire photo library. The operating system may allow you to provide access only to selected media.

Uploaded images may be stored and delivered through Cloudflare R2. Legacy images may remain with Cloudinary during migration, backup, moderation, or retention periods.

1.4 Location information

With permission, ReSell may process precise device coordinates to:

  • Show nearby listings
  • Calculate approximate distance
  • Help select an approximate public location
  • Sort or filter marketplace results

Listings may also contain coordinates supplied through a manual or custom location. ReSell is designed to show other users an approximate City/State-style label and approximate distance rather than exact coordinates. Exact coordinates may still be processed privately by ReSell and its infrastructure to provide location features.

You may deny location permission and use manual location options where available, although nearby and distance features may be limited.

1.5 Search, favorites, interactions, and analytics

We may process:

  • Search text, filters, sort choices, custom search location, and search mode
  • Listings and public profiles opened or viewed
  • Favorites added or removed
  • Listing impressions and detail-page views
  • Unique-viewer relationships used to avoid double-counting some analytics
  • Message leads associated with marketplace listings
  • Story and event interactions
  • Seller totals and per-listing analytics
  • Sponsored-listing impressions, clicks, click-through rate, campaign duration, and campaign status

Seller analytics are intended to help sellers understand activity. Counts may be delayed, estimated, deduplicated, filtered, or corrected and are not guaranteed to be complete.

1.6 Messages and conversations

We may collect and store:

  • Message text
  • Conversation participants
  • Associated listing and listing owner
  • Message and conversation timestamps
  • Read status, archive status, last-message preview, and notification state
  • Safety, moderation, and abuse-related conversation metadata

Messages are not public, but they are not end-to-end encrypted. ReSell may access or review messages when reasonably necessary for support, reporting, moderation, fraud prevention, security, legal compliance, or protection of users.

1.7 Reviews and transaction-completion records

When a listing is marked sold or a review is created, we may process:

  • Buyer and seller identifiers
  • Listing snapshot information
  • Transaction-completion timestamps
  • Review rating, comment, edit history, and deletion state
  • Eligibility and cooldown information used to prevent duplicate or abusive reviews

Reviews may remain visible until deleted, removed, or no longer associated with an available public profile, subject to moderation and retention needs.

1.8 Stories and events

Where available, we may process story or event content, media, creators, viewers or interaction state, dates, locations, attendance-related information, reports, and moderation status. Public event and profile pages may be available on the ReSell website and may be accessible without signing in.

1.9 Reports, blocking, and moderation

We may collect:

  • Reports about listings, users, messages, stories, events, reviews, or other content
  • Report type, category, reason, free-text details, and optional evidence
  • Blocking and unblocking relationships
  • Admin or moderator decisions
  • Hidden, removed, restricted, disabled, appealed, or restored status
  • Snapshots needed to preserve the context of a safety report after content or an account changes
  • Fraud, abuse, spam, prohibited-item, and policy-enforcement signals

Do not submit false or malicious reports.

1.10 Notifications and device information

If notifications are enabled, we may collect push tokens and related platform or device information to deliver messages, account notices, safety notices, and service updates. You can disable notifications in device settings.

1.11 Paid features and store-purchase information

When paid features are enabled and you initiate or complete a purchase through Apple or Google, ReSell may receive or process:

  • Platform and store
  • Product identifier
  • Purchase token or signed transaction data
  • A cryptographic hash of a purchase token
  • Transaction ID, original transaction ID, or Google order ID
  • Purchase, verification, acknowledgement, consumption, renewal, expiration, cancellation, grace-period, revocation, and refund status
  • Store environment, such as sandbox, test, or production
  • Purchase and verification timestamps
  • Subscription or campaign entitlement dates
  • Limited store response data needed for fraud prevention, support, reconciliation, and entitlement management

Apple or Google processes your payment credentials. ReSell does not receive your full credit-card number from the app store.

Sponsored-listing purchases may also create a campaign record containing the listing, campaign duration, activation and end times, impressions, clicks, and payment status.

1.12 Support and communications

We may collect information you send through support email, report-a-problem tools, legal requests, account-deletion requests, or other communications, including attachments and records of our response.

1.13 Technical, security, and operational data

ReSell and its service providers may process:

  • IP address
  • Request, server, security, and audit logs
  • App version, operating system, platform, device type, and device name where provided
  • Error, crash, performance, and diagnostic information
  • API, database, storage, email, and notification delivery metadata
  • Rate-limit, authentication, fraud-prevention, and abuse-prevention information

2. Sources of information

We collect information:

  • Directly from you
  • Automatically when you use the Service
  • From other users who interact with or report content
  • From Apple, Google, or other service providers involved in purchases and service delivery
  • From publicly available information when necessary for support, safety, or legal compliance

3. How we use information

We use information to:

  • Register, authenticate, secure, and manage accounts
  • Provide listings, profiles, search, favorites, messages, stories, events, reviews, notifications, and public links
  • Provide nearby discovery and approximate-distance features
  • Store, optimize, moderate, and display user media
  • Create seller analytics and sponsored-campaign analytics
  • Verify purchases and maintain paid-feature entitlements
  • Restore purchases and respond to purchase, subscription, campaign, refund, or account questions
  • Detect and prevent fraud, scams, spam, prohibited goods, abusive behavior, security incidents, and policy evasion
  • Process reports, blocks, moderation decisions, and appeals
  • Debug, maintain, improve, and measure the Service
  • Communicate policy, security, account, and service updates
  • Enforce our Terms, Community Guidelines, Subscription Terms, and Paid Features Terms
  • Comply with legal obligations and lawful requests
  • Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims

4. Information visible to other users or the public

Depending on the feature, others may see:

  • Public profile and User ID information
  • Listings, listing media, prices, descriptions, sold status, and approximate location
  • Public ratings and reviews
  • Stories and events
  • Whether a listing is sponsored
  • A paid profile badge, if enabled
  • Messages sent directly to them

A paid badge is a visual paid feature. It is not proof that ReSell verified a person’s identity, ownership, trustworthiness, qualifications, or transaction safety.

5. How we disclose information

5.1 Service providers

We may disclose information to providers that help operate ReSell, such as:

  • MongoDB or other database hosting
  • Render or other application hosting
  • Cloudflare R2 and legacy Cloudinary image services
  • Email and SMTP delivery services
  • Expo, Apple, Google, and device push-notification services
  • Apple App Store and Google Play billing and verification services
  • Security, logging, monitoring, and support providers

These providers may process information under their own terms and privacy policies and only as necessary for their services, legal obligations, security, and fraud prevention.

5.2 Other users and public visitors

We disclose public content as described above and deliver messages to intended recipients.

5.3 Legal and safety disclosures

We may preserve or disclose information when we reasonably believe it is necessary to comply with law or legal process, enforce policies, investigate fraud or abuse, protect users or the public, respond to an emergency, or protect ReSell’s rights and systems.

5.4 Business transfers

Information may be transferred as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or part of the Service, subject to applicable law.

6. Advertising and cross-service tracking

ReSell’s sponsored-listing feature is a first-party marketplace promotion tool. ReSell does not currently sell personal information or use third-party advertising identifiers to track users across unrelated companies’ apps or websites for targeted advertising.

If these practices change, we will update this policy and any required consent and store disclosures before using the information for the new purpose.

7. Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy. Retention depends on the type of information, account status, legal requirements, security needs, and whether information remains necessary for an active feature.

Examples:

  • Core account and public content are generally retained while the account is active.
  • Draft, active, expired, canceled, refunded, and disputed purchase or campaign records may be retained for financial reconciliation, fraud prevention, support, store compliance, tax, accounting, legal, and audit purposes.
  • Messages, reviews, sold-transaction records, analytics records, and user content may be retained until deleted, de-identified, expired, or removed, subject to safety and legal needs.
  • Reports, evidence, moderation snapshots, block records, and enforcement history may be retained after account deletion when reasonably necessary to prevent abuse, address disputes, comply with law, or protect users.
  • Backups and logs may remain for a limited period until overwritten through normal retention cycles.

We do not promise that every record is deleted immediately from all backups.

8. Account and data deletion

You can request deletion:

  • In the app: Profile → Menu → Account → Delete Account
  • On the web: https://www.resellmarketplace.app/delete-account

Deletion removes access to the account and initiates deletion or de-identification of associated profile information, listings, user media, stories, events, favorites, and other account content handled by ReSell, subject to technical limitations and lawful retention.

Information may be retained when reasonably necessary for fraud prevention, security, moderation, legal compliance, accounting, purchase reconciliation, dispute resolution, or protection of users. Content already received or copied by another user may remain in that user’s possession. Some message or transaction context may be de-identified or retained to protect the integrity of another user’s records.

Deleting a ReSell account does not automatically cancel an Apple or Google subscription. Cancel recurring subscriptions in your App Store or Google Play account before or after deleting ReSell.

9. Your choices and rights

You can:

  • Edit profile and listing information where the app permits
  • Delete listings, reviews, stories, events, or other content where supported
  • Favorite or unfavorite listings
  • Block or unblock users
  • Report content or users
  • Disable camera, photo, location, or notification permissions in device settings
  • Cancel or manage subscriptions through Apple or Google
  • Request account deletion
  • Contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or information about our processing

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have additional rights, including the right to object, restrict processing, receive a portable copy, or appeal a privacy-request decision. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including password hashing, authenticated access, transport security, access controls, and purchase verification. No service is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children

ReSell is intended only for adults who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly permit children to create accounts. Contact us if you believe a minor has provided information.

12. International processing

ReSell is operated from the United States. Information may be processed in the United States and in other locations where our service providers operate. Those locations may have different privacy laws from your jurisdiction.

13. Third-party services and links

The Service may link to public websites, app-store subscription management, maps, email, or other third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when features, providers, laws, or data practices change. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice or request acknowledgement when required.
