ReSell Marketplace is a local marketplace community where adults can create listings, upload item photos, search marketplace listings, view public profiles, favorite listings, message other users, and use safety tools such as reporting and blocking.

These Community Guidelines explain what is allowed, what is not allowed, and how we handle moderation. By using ReSell Marketplace, you agree to follow these guidelines, our Terms of Service, our Privacy Policy, and all applicable laws and regulations.

Core principles

  • Safety first: Do not post content or behave in ways that put people at risk.
  • Legal compliance: Do not use ReSell Marketplace for illegal or restricted activity.
  • Respect: Treat others with dignity. No harassment, hate, threats, or intimidation.
  • Trust: No scams, deception, stolen goods, counterfeit items, or misleading listings.
  • Privacy: Do not share, request, or misuse sensitive personal information.
  • Accurate listings: Listings must truthfully describe the item, condition, price, and location label.

Who can use ReSell Marketplace

ReSell Marketplace is intended for adults. Users must be 18+.

Do not use ReSell Marketplace if you are under 18 or if you are legally prohibited from using the Service.

Prohibited items and content

Do not list, request, offer, promote, arrange, message about, or facilitate transactions involving any of the following. This list is strict by design to reduce safety, legal, fraud, and App Store / Play Store compliance risk.

Weapons and dangerous items

  • Firearms, firearm parts, gun kits, “ghost gun” components, ammunition, magazines, silencers, or suppressors
  • Explosives, fireworks, bombs, detonators, incendiary devices, or explosive materials
  • Weapon-making instructions or parts intended to build weapons
  • Items intended to cause harm, including disguised weapons
  • Hazardous materials, toxic chemicals, poisons, radioactive materials, or unsafe pesticides

Drugs, controlled substances, and related items

  • Illegal drugs or controlled substances
  • Drug paraphernalia primarily intended for drug use
  • Prescription medications, controlled pharmaceuticals, prescription medical devices, or anything requiring a prescription
  • Items that claim to provide illegal drugs, controlled substances, or medical drugs without authorization

Alcohol, tobacco, nicotine, and age-restricted goods

To keep ReSell Marketplace simple and safe, these are not allowed:

  • Alcohol
  • Tobacco
  • Nicotine products
  • Vapes, e-liquids, or vaping accessories
  • Other age-restricted products where sale or transfer may be regulated

Stolen, counterfeit, unsafe, and restricted goods

  • Stolen goods or items you do not have the legal right to sell
  • Counterfeit goods or replicas presented as authentic
  • Items that infringe trademarks, copyrights, or other intellectual property rights
  • Recalled items where resale is restricted, unlawful, or unsafe
  • Pirated software, stolen accounts, unauthorized license keys, or illegal digital goods

Sexual content and exploitation

  • Pornography, explicit sexual content, or sexual services
  • Sexual solicitation
  • Nudity or sexual content involving minors
  • Content that exploits, abuses, grooms, traffics, or endangers anyone
  • Child sexual abuse material or any sexualized content involving children

Hate, harassment, violence, and self-harm

  • Hate speech or discriminatory content
  • Extremist content or content promoting violence
  • Harassment, bullying, stalking, intimidation, or abuse
  • Threats of violence
  • Encouragement of self-harm or suicide
  • Content that glorifies real-world harm

Fraud, scams, and deceptive practices

  • Scams, phishing, impersonation, or fraudulent listings
  • Misleading pricing, bait-and-switch listings, or fake giveaways
  • Attempts to collect deposits or money through deceptive practices
  • Attempts to move users off-platform for fraud, abuse, or malicious purposes
  • Fake profiles, fake listings, or fake availability claims

Personal data and privacy violations

  • Posting someone else’s personal information
  • Sharing private addresses, phone numbers, government IDs, financial information, passwords, or sensitive account details
  • Requesting passwords, bank information, Social Security numbers, government IDs, or other sensitive data in chat
  • Posting private conversations without consent where prohibited by law

Other prohibited content

  • Gambling services or gambling devices
  • Live animals
  • Spam, unsolicited advertising, repetitive posting, or low-quality bulk listings
  • Malware, spyware, hacking tools, or instructions to compromise accounts/devices
  • Any listing, message, profile, or behavior that encourages illegal activity
  • Any content that creates safety, legal, fraud, or platform integrity risk

What is allowed, if legal and honest

Examples of generally allowed categories include:

  • Clothing and accessories
  • Electronics
  • Furniture
  • Books
  • Home goods
  • School or dorm items
  • Other lawful secondhand goods

Allowed listings must still follow all laws and all ReSell Marketplace rules.

Listing rules

All listings must:

  • Be truthful and accurately describe the item, condition, and price
  • Use clear item photos that you own or have permission to use
  • Avoid misleading titles, keywords, tags, or descriptions
  • Avoid prohibited items or prohibited content
  • Avoid posting personal contact information in listing text
  • Use a safe approximate public location label
  • Respect local laws for what may be sold and how it may be transferred

We may remove, hide, restrict, or preserve listings that are unsafe, prohibited, suspicious, misleading, abusive, fraudulent, low-quality, or potentially unlawful.

Public profile and people search rules

Public profiles and people search are meant to help users identify marketplace participants and view user listings.

Do not use profile features to:

  • Impersonate someone else
  • Harass, shame, threaten, or target users
  • Post hateful, sexual, exploitative, or illegal content
  • Share private personal information
  • Mislead others about identity, affiliation, location, or trustworthiness
  • Evade blocks, restrictions, or moderation actions

Your username, profile photo, public profile information, and listings may be visible to other users where the app shows them.

Favorites and marketplace search

Favorites and search are provided to help users find and revisit listings.

Do not abuse search or favorites to stalk, harass, spam, scrape, or target users. Search results, filters, and listing visibility may change and are not guaranteed.

Messaging rules

Messaging is for respectful communication about marketplace listings and transactions.

In chat, do not:

  • Harass, threaten, pressure, intimidate, or use hateful language
  • Request or share sensitive personal data
  • Attempt to scam, phish, impersonate, or deceive others
  • Send spam or mass unsolicited messages
  • Send sexual, exploitative, violent, illegal, or prohibited content
  • Arrange transactions involving prohibited items
  • Pressure users to move off-platform for unsafe, fraudulent, or abusive reasons

We may review messages when needed for safety, support, moderation, legal compliance, or abuse prevention, as described in our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Reporting, blocking, and unblocking

If you see something that violates these guidelines, use the in-app reporting tools.

ReSell Marketplace provides safety tools including:

  • Reporting listings
  • Reporting users
  • Selecting report categories
  • Adding report details
  • Attaching optional screenshots or evidence images to reports
  • Blocking users
  • Unblocking users from the profile menu where supported

When reporting, include helpful details such as:

  • The user involved
  • Listing details
  • A short explanation of what happened
  • Screenshots or evidence where relevant
  • Chat context if the issue happened in messages

Do not submit false, malicious, spam, or abusive reports. Abuse of reporting or blocking tools may result in account action.

Safety tips for in-person transactions

ReSell Marketplace is a platform for listings and messaging only. We do not process payments, provide escrow, provide shipping, guarantee users, guarantee item condition, or handle refunds/disputes.

Recommended safety practices:

  • Meet in a public, well-lit place
  • Bring another person when possible
  • Inspect the item before paying
  • Avoid advance payments or deposits to unknown users
  • Use safe payment methods
  • Do not share sensitive personal information
  • Trust your instincts and cancel if something feels suspicious
  • In emergencies, contact local emergency services immediately

Users are responsible for transactions arranged through the Service.

Official update stories / announcements

Version 2.0.0 includes official ReSell Marketplace update announcements, such as app update stories.

This area is currently for official ReSell Marketplace updates only. It is not currently a general user-created story posting feature.

Enforcement and moderation

We may take action when we believe content or behavior violates our rules or creates safety, legal, fraud, abuse, or platform integrity risk.

Actions may include:

  • Removing or hiding listings
  • Limiting listing, profile, search, or message visibility
  • Removing or restricting messages or messaging access
  • Limiting account functionality
  • Temporarily suspending or permanently disabling accounts
  • Preserving relevant records, reports, evidence, messages, account snapshots, and moderation history
  • Cooperating with lawful requests from authorities where required

Enforcement may be based on user reports, moderator review, automated signals, admin tools, or other safety checks. We aim to review and act on safety-related reports as quickly as reasonably possible, generally within 24 hours when practical. We may act without notice when urgent safety, fraud, legal, or abuse risks exist.

Repeat offenders and severe violations

Accounts that repeatedly violate these rules may be permanently disabled.

Severe violations may result in immediate removal and permanent account action, including:

  • Threats of violence
  • Child safety issues
  • Sexual exploitation
  • Illegal weapons
  • Illegal drugs
  • Serious fraud or scams
  • Hate or extremist activity
  • Attempts to evade enforcement

Features not currently offered

As of version 2.0.0, ReSell Marketplace does not currently offer:

  • In-app subscriptions
  • Paid marketplace events
  • Payment processing
  • Escrow
  • Shipping
  • General user-created story posting

If these features are added later, ReSell Marketplace may update these guidelines and related policies.
